Fortres 101 | Home
Fortres is a security program that
allows you to implement controls over the desktop. It is compatible
with both Windows 3.x and Windows 95 systems. It installs a program
that is transparent to the user, but gives administrators authority
over which programs can be run. For example, there are settings
for disabling the start menu button, preventing [Ctrl] [Alt] [Del]
from shutting down the computer, and restricting unauthorize access
to other desktop icons such as Control Panel or Network neighborhood.
It can be used to set certain file types to read-only such as
.EXE, .COM, and .DLL. It not a menu program but rather a security
program only.
Earlier this year, Fortres Grand Corporation released several
new products to complement the Fortres 101 security program such
as Historian (a statistical reporting program), Cooler (a program
for restricting specific functions within an application) and
Central Control (a remote administration program). Trial versions
of these programs can be downloaded from the Fortres Grand Corporation
website at www.fortres.com
