LLA Conference Grant for New Members
LASL has established a conference grant for new members to increase interest and membership in LLA and LASL organizations. This grant provides a financial incentive for a new member who is a school librarian to attend and participate in the annual conference. Deadline is January 3rd of the conference year.

Guest Speaker for the LASL Author Luncheon will be Toni Buzzeo.
We are proud to have nationally acclaimed author Toni Buzzeo as our guest speaker for the LASL Author Luncheon to be held during the LLA 2010 Conference in Baton Rouge, March 10-12, 2010. Toni is the author of the Mrs. Skorupski Stories - Our Librarian Won't Tell Us Anything!, Fire Up with Reading, and The Great Dewey Hunt, along with other popular titles. LALAMP
The Louisiana Association of Library and Media Professionals (LALAMP) Tour is designed to increase and improve the awareness and understanding of the role of librarians in the state of Louisiana. The LALAMP Tour is an all day workshop held at sites throughout the state. The LAMP workshop is FREE to all attendees. The morning's activities include the Keynote Address and uninterrupted Vendor/Exhibit time. Break-out sessions on topics pertinent to school librarians will be held in the afternoon.     A state contest encourages children to read and to vote for their favorite book from a list of titles suggested by librarians, educators and other interested individuals in Louisiana
