As "print" is endangered by the economic and technological advances of the 21st century, the Print Culture and Books Interest Group exists to maintain awareness and appreciation of material books (such as have been or may be found in libraries, bookstores, schools, colleges, and private residences) and the unique uses and value thereof. History, theory, preservation, archives, and bibliography are some of the specific interests which may be pursued. Other hand-produced texts (such as codices, scrolls, and clay tablets) may also fall within the purview of this Interest Group until a more appropriate group is organized for them.
If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact the LLA Office by calling (225) 922-4642 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up today. You may also add the Print Culture & Book Interest Group (23) on your dues renewal notice for the 2016-2017 year.
* Please note: Depending on how many LLA interest groups you already belong to, an additional $3 fee to become a member of the "Print Culture & Books" Interest Group may apply. Librarian, Trustee and Contributing level memberships include a total of two interest groups. Retired, Friend, Student and Business/Organization level members must pay for all interest group choices.
