CENSORSHIP TOOLKIT |
The Louisiana Library Association supports librarians and all library workers in our great state. We support life-long learning and reject attempts to censor or ban books that provide library users a variety of viewpoints and information to understand themselves and the world they live in. We believe that everyone has the right to read, the right to view, the right to learn, and the right to privacy as they seek out information. We stand behind Librarians who patriotically support the 1st amendment. Louisiana libraries ensure equity in access to information to all who seek knowledge. LLA supports a democratic society and a well-informed electorate. LLA supports libraries as safe places for underserved and marginalized people to see themselves in our communities. LLA encourages all community members to support all users’ rights to information access. The following resources are for libraries confronting censorship or librarians dealing with personal attacks or defamation. |
