Purpose
The purpose of GODORT is to provide a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas, problems and news about government publications and information from all levels of government and to provide a means for initiating and supporting programs and publications to increase availability, use and bibliographic control, and management of these documents.
Activities
- Sponsors a program/breakfast (with the cooperation of the Congressional Information Service) at the annual LLA Conference
- Reports twice a year to the Louisiana Federal Depository Library Council
- Sends a designated liaison to the State and Local Documents Task Force meeting at the midwinter and annual meetings of the American Library Association
- Sends copies of all LLA/GODORT publications to the American Library Association Headquarters Library for inclusion in the Paul W. Thurston Collection
