2026 LaSSAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Louisiana Support Staff Association of Libraries (LaSSAL) invites library support staff, supervisors, and library professionals from across the state to submit program proposals for the 2026 LaSSAL Annual Conference.

All program proposals must be submitted by July 31, 2026. Selected presenters will be notified after the proposal review process is complete. Submit a program proposal here.

Library support staff are the heartbeat of our libraries. Whether serving patrons, managing collections, supporting technology, organizing programs, or keeping daily operations running smoothly, support staff make an immeasurable impact on the communities we serve. This year's conference will celebrate those contributions while providing practical ideas, professional development, and opportunities to learn from one another.

We are seeking engaging presentations that inspire, educate, and empower library support staff. Sessions may include, but are not limited to:

• Customer service excellence
• Innovative programming
• Technology tips and emerging tools
• Collection maintenance and technical services
• Communication and teamwork
• Leadership and professional growth
• Accessibility and inclusive library services
• Safety and emergency preparedness
• Outreach and community engagement
• Workplace wellness and resilience
• Creative solutions to everyday library challenges
• Success stories from Louisiana libraries

Presentations may be educational, interactive, panel discussions, demonstrations, or hands-on workshops. We encourage proposals from first-time presenters as well as experienced conference speakers.

Please include:

• Presentation title
• Presenter(s) name, library, and contact information
• A brief presenter biography (50–100 words)
• Session description (150–250 words)
• Learning objectives (2–3)
• Preferred presentation length (if applicable)
• Technology or room setup needs
