What do you do when an angry patron walks in and starts randomly shooting people? This in-person interactive training course is a modern safety and active shooter preparedness solution. ALICE Active Shooter Response Training prepares people to respond to confidently during an active shooter situation. This is not your normal Run, Hide, and Fight training.

What's My Floor Plan  hosted by Patricia Husband, Thursday, July 6th

This pre-conference will cover basics of reading floor plans, how to use a scale to determine dimensions, learn a little about reviewing specifications, and help library staff understand more about their building projects.

This is an overview of the LPDDP, the Recorder of Documents Office and how public documents, state agencies, and depository libraries intersect. Emphasis will be upon the print-to-digital shift, and the current and historical value of digital documents. Participants will emerge with a better understanding and appreciation of public documents.

Public/Trustee Luncheon with the Honorable Freddie Pitcher Jr., Friday, July 7th

The Honorable Freddie Pitcher Jr. will discuss his illustrious career and his book, "Breaking Barriers: A View from the Bench". His book sheds light on the perseverance and determination required of early African American candidates who overcame the many roadblocks they met while striving to fully participate in the political process.

All registration cancellations and refund requests for the 2023 Louisiana Library Association Annual Conference, including preconferences and meal events, must be made in writing to lla@amigos.org by Saturday, June 24th. After June 24th, no requests for refunds will be accepted and no exceptions will be made to the policy. Registrations made after Saturday, June 24th are nonrefundable.
